Validity of FCRA Registration Extended to 30th September 2023
As per section 12(6) of the FC(R) Act, 2010, the FCRA registration shall be valid for a period of 5 years. However, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) vide its earlier public notice dated 23rd September 2022 had extended till 31st March 2023. Now with this public notice dated 24th March, 2023, the Validity of such Certificates is further extended till 30th September 2023.
The contents of the notice are mentioned below:
1. The validity of the FCRA registration shall be extended till 30th September, 2023 or till the date of disposal of the renewal application, whichever is earlier. This would apply only where the application for renewal has been filed and is pending till date.
2. The validity of those FCRA Registration Certificates expiring during 1st April, 2023 to 30th September, 2023 and who have applied/ will apply for renewal before expiry of 5 years validity period is extended up to 30th September, 2023.
3. In case of refusal of the application for renewal of FCRA registration certificate, the validity of the certificate shall be deemed to have expired on the date of refusal. Further, such organization are not eligible to receive foreign contributions or utilize foreign contributions received earlier from the date of refusal.
