Validity of FCRA registration has been extended to 31st March, 2022

As per section 12(6) of the FC(R) Act, the FCRA registration shall be valid for a period of 5 years. However, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) vide its circular dated 31st December, 2021, has extended the validity of the FCRA certificate till 31st March, 2022 or till the date of disposal of the renewal applicationwhichever is earlier and if the following criteria are fulfilled:

i)                   FCRA Registration Certificate is expiring between the period 29th September, 2020 and 31st March, 2022.

ii)                 Has already applied / apply for renewal before expiry of validity of original certificate of registration (Date of validity should be seen from the certificate of registration)

 

As per the said circular, if the above mentioned criteria are followed and disposal of the renewal application is still pending for approval, then all such FCRA registration would be valid till 31st March, 2022. Further, such organizations shall be eligible to receive and utilize FC funds till 31st March, 2022.

However, this extension will not apply to those organizations, whose application for renewal of FCRA registration has been refused / denied.
